      St. Louis Bar & Grill is intent on meeting the requirements of Accessibility Standards for Customer Service,Ontario Regulation 429/07under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005,and applies to the provision of goods and services to the public or other third parties, not to the goods themselves.

      All goods and services provided by St. Louis shall follow the principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity.

      To ensure all Team Members have received the proper training on the requirements of the A.O.D.A.  St. Louis Bar and Grill provides each new Team Member a Handbook containing an A.O.D.A. section.  Ensure you read and understand the A.O.D.A. chapter and complete the A.O.D.A. test.  You must score a minimum of 80% on the test to pass.

      Also found in the Team Member Handbook is the Team Member Acknowledgment of Information Form.  Once you have read and understood the A.O.D.A. section, sign and submit this page to Management.

      In accordance with the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, Ontario Regulation 429/07, this policy addresses the following:

      1. The Provision of Goods and Services to Persons with Disabilities;
      2. The Use of Assistive Devices;
      3. The Use of Guide Dogs, Service Animals and Service Dogs;
      4. The Use of Support Persons;
      5. Notice of Service Disruptions;
      6. Guest Feedback

      Everyone in the workplace must be dedicated to uphold this policy, and will be held accountable for breaches of this policy.

      At St. Louis Bar and Grill, our goal is to not only meet the basic requirements of the A.O.D.A but to exceed them through Guest First thinking and ensuring all our Guests (regardless of disability) are treated with the upmost respect.

      Accessibility Policies for St. Louis

      St. Louis Bar & Grill is committed to improving accessibility. We will put the following policies into practice as required by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

      General:St. Louis Bar and Grill is committed to training staff on Ontario’s accessibility laws and on accessibility aspects of the Human Rights Code that apply to persons with disabilities. Training will be provided in a way that best suits the duties of employees, volunteers and other staff members.

      Information and Communication:St. Louis Bar & Grill is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. When asked, we will provide information and communications materials in accessible formats or with communication supports. This includes publicly available information about our goods, services and facilities, as well as publicly available emergency information.

      St. Louis Bar & Grill will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs.

      Employment

      St. Louis Bar & Grill will notify the public and staff that, when requested, we will accommodate disabilities during recruitment and assessment processes and when people are hired. If needed, we will provide customized workplace emergency information to employees who have a disability. If using performance management, career development and redeployment processes, we will take into account the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities.

       

      Design of Public Spaces

      St Louis Bar & Grill will meet the Accessibility Standards for the Design of Public Spaces when building or making major modifications to public spaces. Public spaces include:

      • Recreational trails/beach access routes
      • Accessible off-street parking
      • Service-related elements like service counters, fixed queuing lines and waiting areas

      Any of our policies that do not respect and promote the dignity and independence of people with disabilities will be modified or removed.
